Pumpkin Carving

I know I'm a little early with the pumpkin carving, but I wanted to make sure it gets done before our family schedule gets more hectic, if you know what I mean!! The kids were more than eager to get out there and get their pumpkins carved. I let them decide what they wanted carved into each of their pumpkins. Eryn was most original with "just a jack-o-lantern." Nolan looked through the book and decided he wanted a werewolf. Just for giggles sometime, ask him to say "werewolf" it is hilarious:) I decided the third pumpkin was mine and the baby's so, it needed to be Iowa Hawkeyes:)
Those of you that know me also know that I have ZERO creative and artistic talent, so this was quite a chore for me! I think it took me all of 2 hours to carve all three pumpkins. I knew they wouldn't be perfect, but we all had a good time getting our hands in the "guts" of the pumpkins and warding off the bees on the porch!! Keep in mind the kids were taking some of these pictures).

"Bouncy House"

On Saturday the kids ventured with their cousin Landon to Rochester to the House of Bounce. The kids call it bouncy house hence the name of the post. They had a BLAST!! Nolan really liked the baseball game, of course! Both kids were worn out after 1 1/2 hours. This is definitely a great idea for rainy days!!

Harvest Time!

My dad and brother started combining corn this weekend, so Nolan was super excited to get a ride in the tractor and combine today!

Just Can't Get Enough... Baseball!!!

Nolan has been on a real kick this weekend to play baseball. I have been working with both kids (to the best of my ability) to teach them the correct way to stand, swing, etc. Coming from me, who never played little league or softball, I guess it's at least a start.

Last night we played in the driveway until it got too dark to see.... today we ventured to the park to play on the "real field." Both kids thought they had to run all of the bases each time they hit. Needless to say, I am hoping we all sleep good tonight!

It's a busy week ahead for us... Eryn starts dance tomorrow and CCD on Wednesday, plus it's Homecoming week at SW!! Go Warriors!!

Spillville's 150th

This weekend St. Wenceslaus church celebrated 150 years. It was a great celebration with lots of food and fun. We only attended a small portion of it, but enjoyed every minute. On Saturday there was a LLLOOONNNGGG parade with many fun entries. The kids enjoyed getting a TON of candy as well!! Later in the day Randy and my sister played in a volleyball tournamnet. On Saturday night we went and listened to some great local bands play.

However, work on the garage did not stop with all of the festivities. Randy and family were busy shingling yesterday and will continue the progress today. It's coming along nicely! My job today will be laundry, homework and try to get the kids on a regular schedule before school starts back up again tomorrow!!
