Snow, Swim and Theme Park!

Hello....still having problems uploading photos to the blog, so you will have to check facebook for those:)

We just got back from a fun-filled weekend at the Dells....a late Christmas gift!

We left Friday afternoon and rolled back into Spillville around 3 pm with three very tired and cranky kids....and parents.....all in the name of fun!  Randy's been battling some type of flu since Thursday, and we made a quick trip to the clinic on Friday just to be sure Eryn wasn't getting strep again before hitting the road to Wisconsin.

Saturday morning we dressed up warm and headed to Christmas Mountain for snow tubing!  The two older kids and Randy had fun with this two years ago, and since Derek was too little at the time he and I stayed back.  This year, though he was ready for some fun!  We went up and down countless times, and even walked up the hills a time or two..what a workout!

After lunch it was time to hit the waterpark, and the kids had a blast!!  Derek was content to go down the same slides over and over while the other kids wanted to do the waterslides.  I had a good time but was dead tired by the end of the day!  Later in the afternoon Derek and Randy napped and the other kids and I hit the outlet mall.  We returned for supper then went to the waterpark again before hitting the beds for the night.

This morning we checked out other things the Dells has to offer and went to the indoor amusement park before heading home.  It's been a GrEaT weekend, and I am happy to have Monday for us to recoop before going back to work and school Tuesday!  We've got some fun projects planned, like baking for Cabin Fever and Valentine Boxes.  And besides it's going to be FREEZING cold so might as well stay in where it's warm!

Catching Up with the New Year!

I've been having some technical issues trying to upload pictures, so until that is resolved, which I hope is soon, I will post without:(.

We got through the Christmas holiday season, without illness I might add, and I hope I am not jinxing us, cuz we have some exciting plans coming up!  The kids are back to school, which is always good to get back in a routine, for them and us parents!  We've celebrated a new year, filled with new agendas, beginnings, and hopefully ends to old, not-so-good habits!  It's off to a great start!  We celebrated my Dad's 61st birthday on New Year's Day with my whole family, it was a lot of fun!  Complete with cake of course, and I tried a new reciepe for chocolate twinkie cake... I will definitely be making that one again!

Randy and I have been busy with work of course, and in addition to that, painting and completing our plans for the upstairs addition.  We have had our setbacks, especially with paint, but we are going to work on it again today and keep things moving along.  We've made a couple more trips to Menards' for supplies so we can keep at it.

Derek is working hard on his potty training and doing great!!!  One week now he's been wearing the "big boy pants" and not too many accidents!  His vocabulary continues to soar, so we really have to watch what we say around him.  The other day, out of the blue he blurts out "daddy has a beard." It was cute!

Eryn continues to be busy with tumbling and has started Girl Scouts.  It makes for a very busy week night agenda, but she enjoys it!  She is also in Lego League in school and has a great time with that group as well.  She is reading like the book worm she is, and is a great big sister to both of her brothers, as she loves to read to them as well.

Nolan went to his first birthday party this weekend, and LOVED it!  They had a bouncy house so that is always a hit with the kids.  He is looking forward to Cabin Fever at school later this month.  He's also really into hunting right now, and loves watching Outdoor Channel!

All three kids are obsessed with Duck Dynasty (or Dynasty) as Derek calls it.  I am pretty sure we have watched every episode at least twice!

Here's to a happy, healthy and peaceful 2013 to everyone!!!!!
