Celebrating Spring

This was the first weekend i a long time of beautiful weather!  We tried to soak up as much of it as possible!  Saturday the kids got their pictures taken, and did a fantastic job.  Later in the day we went up to Calmar and had a short ride on the bike trail, spending some time with the Sabelka clan.

Sunday we were up bright and early, the kids and I hit the bike trail with Stacy and the kids then enjoyed lunch (mabes, yum!) with the Sabelka's again as they continue to work on shingling the house.

This afternoon we took a stroll around town and made our first visit to the Inwood park.  I can get used to weekends with this wonderful weather!

The kids are counting down the days of school, it won't be long!  We are also anxious to get our garden in, and hopefully the warm temperatures continue so we can get things going!  Three weeks ago we planted our seedlings and as you can see they are coming along great!

Looking forward to a slower, less hectic week.  CCD is out for the year, so we have another night free in our schedules.   We have a half birthday in the house this week so so stay tuned for some small celebration!

Signs of Spring??

Well, you wouldn't know it by looking outside, especially with the white fluffy flakes of snow that were making yet another appearance this morning, but spring is surely on it's way.  I'm only that optimistic about it because those stinkin' allergies of Nolan's are creeping their way into our lives again.  It started last week as Nolan was stuffy and complained of a sore throat.  He had a slight fever last Sunday and we kept him home from school Monday.  The fever was gone, but not the congestion and sneezing.  With the weather being so cold I didn't really think that his allergies would be flaring up quite yet, but I was wrong.

After checking the medicine cabinet, I found that most of his prescriptions had expired, and since we recently changed doctors, it was time for a check up.

Friday afternoon Nolan and I had a nice afternoon, just he and I.  We went first to the clinic,  and got the prescriptions filled.  Nolan seems to be wheezing a little so it's something to watch and hopefully the Flonase will cure that right up.

After that, a trip to Walmart, Fareway and McDonald's as Nolan was "starving" we made it home in time to get Eryn off the bus.

Rainy Days

Like most of you we are growing impatient with this weather, hoping any day for sunny skies and warm temperatures.  We all have Cabin Fever at this house, and that has made for some crafty project days at our house!  It's difficult some days to get the kids pryed away from the kindle, wii, or DS, but once they do, they have lots of fun!  Eryn painted a coffee cup, and we all made candy necklaces for movie night.  Although I love being cozy and warm at night cuddling in the living room, I long for the evenings outside watching the kids play while we grill supper!   C'mon Spring!
Eryn made me a coffee cup for work! LOVE!

Spring Program

Eryn was getting a little cold....

The two older kids had their Spring Music Program at school this week.  As always it was a fast and furious race to get them ready after I got home from work and have supper before heading out.  It was well worth it though!  They both did a great job.  Its moments like these that you just want to bottle up and keep forever, you know?  These kids are growing up WAY too fast!!

Hoppy Easter!

Monday is almost over!  Yeah!!  The weekend went by way to fast as it always does, but what a wonderful weekend!  It started off with spending some time with the Sabelka sisters doing some shopping.  It'd been way too long!

Sunday we celebrated the resurrection of Jesus, what an important day!  We celebrated by attending church then with the Sabelka's for great food, company, and of course an easter egg hunt!
