Omaha!

We just got back from our 2nd annual family trip to Omaha.  I'm tired, sunburnt, and sore but feeling so blessed to have such wonderful family!

We headed out on Thursday afternoon and arrived around 7:30 on Thursday night.  It was HOT with temps around 95 degrees.  We settled in for the night, knowing that we had a full Friday on tap.

We hit the zoo first thing on Friday.  The kids loved seeing all the different animals.  We checked out a new dinosaur exhibit too.  Derek didn't enjoy the gorillas too much, but we all loved the aquarium (and the AC!)
At the dinosaur exhibit

lots of coi fish!

After the zoo, we went downtown to Spaghetti Works for some great lunch and to see how Uncle Terry was doing during his work day.  Then, it was back to the house and to the pool!  At dusk it was time for some fireworks.  Nolan had been looking forward to this for months and it did not disappoint!

Saturday morning Maura and I went to Kosama class.  What a great way to start a Saturday!  Then we split up and the guys went to Cabela's while the girls did a little shopping.  It's hard to believe that school starts in about a month, so we did cross some things off of our school shopping list.  After a quick lunch it was back to the pool!  I'm pretty sure these kids would have no problem staying here all summer long!

Nap time at the pool.  Great way to spend a Saturday afternoon!

We layed low on Saturday night and ordered pizza and watched some baseball (Go Yankees!) We headed back for home this morning.  We are catching up on laundry and sleep.  It was a great vaca and we are already planning next year's trip!
