Swimming Lessons and Pool Party

Today was a GREAT day! Great weather and great times with friends! The day started with swimming lessons this morning. It was so fun to see how much the kids have learned in a little over a week! They even both went off the diving boards! Eryn loves to swim and Nolan could take it or leave it, but they are both learning a lot and that is what counts!

After a little down time at home it was time to head to the neighbors for a pool/birthday party. Eryn was in the pool for about 5 hours total today, so she should sleep good tonight! It was great to catch up with friends and see the newest addition to our group of kids, which keeps expanding! We counted 8 kids to 6 adults! It's great to have an opportunity to get our kids together and summer birthdays are the perfect reason! Happy 3rd Birthday to Carson tomorrow!!

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to Randy, a great husband, friend and father! I know how much he hates pictures of himself but I just love this one (taken in February on vacation in Florida). Hope he has had a great birthday! I made him a Twinkie cake, and got an ice cream cake:)

Yabba Dabba Do!!!

My sister in law Lacy asked me if the kids would want to be in a parade on Saturday. I was a bit hesitant because I knew Eryn is so shy, but both kids were game! It was unbeliveably HOT but it was fun! The kids had a great time dressing up and waving to everyone as we passed by. I walked along and threw candy as well. Lacy's grandpa makes a great Fred and does a hilarious impression!

After a trip to McDonald's for lunch it was back home to get ready for a family wedding. It was nice to see everyone on the Hackman side.

After some rain last night, it's back to work on the garage today. Randy has been working for the past 3 days straight with hopes of pouring the floor tomorrow, which is also his birthday!! The kids and I will be busy today baking a birthday cake!!

Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there, especially to my husband, who is a great father, as well as my dad and father in law! You are all very special to our family!! I also cannot forget my grandfather's who are not with us today, but I think of them often and miss them!!

Today there was not much time for rest, but everyone but me slept in past 8! I made pancakes and bacon for breakfast and then it was off to various projects for the day!

After a few minor setbacks with the garage project today, Randy was again at it to get some of the dirt leveled off in the yard. It looks so much better! With all of the rain that they are saying we are going to get this week, it will make for less work later...hopefully!

The kids and I decided to give Randy his Father's Day gift yesterday before we left for Grandma's birthday party.... I figured he would want to wear it right away since my uncle and him rival against the Yankees and Red Sox. Sure enough, he wanted to wear it! We were in such a hurry to get going that I didn't even get a picture with him wearing it. We had a great time the party, and had a chance to catch up with family we haven't seen in a few months.

Another step closer

Today the walls of the garage were poured. To me, doesn't sound like a major job, but with all the recent rain it definitely turned into one! One cement truck needed a little help getting out!!

Meanwhile us girls baked some cookies for Randy's cousin's wedding next weekend. Sure made the house smell good! Thanks to my sister in laws for helping make lunch for the guys working. It helped me out a ton! The kids had a great time watching all the action, as well as taking some random pics of the days events!

TGIF!!!

It's certainly been one of those weeks. Just not enough time in the day... and all this rain and gray skies.... where did summer go?? I am glad it's the weekend, and it will be just as busy as any other, but a good break from the work week.

Randy has been very busy outside with the help of our wonderful family to keep progress going on the garage. Tomorrow the walls will be poured. It's nothing but mud, mud, mud in the backyard and it smells! Nolan has a great sense of smell and it's funny, he plugs his nose whenever we walk in the yard. What a kid!

Both kids are anticipating swimming lessons starting next week. I am anxious for them to start too. I think the kids will have a great time!

Happy Birthday to my Grandma Carolan today!! Can't wait to see her and the rest of the fam at the get together tomorrow!

Recap of the week...

So we've been really busy lately and I have neglected to update the blog!! I will try to do better in the weeks to come:)

Since my last post, a lot has been happening:) Where to begin....

My sister in laws and I enjoyed a great weekend in the cities for some girl time and shopping. I definitely missed my hubby and kids but it's good to get away once in a while!

On Tuesday this week Eryn lost another tooth, so a visit from the tooth fairy was inevitable! It was another tooth on the bottom, and she has yet to lose the top two!

Nolan had an appt in LaCrosse on Tuesday regarding his allergies. Not a suprise, he's allergic to trees, grass and ragweed! Thank goodness for allergy meds!!

Things have also been busy in the house as we are cleaning and moving the kids bedrooms around to accommodate our new addition! It's hard work but I sure feel good when it's done! Eryn wants to paint her room purple, so that will be another project in the weeks to come. As anyone that drives past our house can see, most of the work that will be done will be outside this summer! Good for me, so that there isn't extra mess in the house!!

Yesterday Nolan had a blast with the new piece of machinery in the yard-- a mini excavator! Randy let him run it for a while, and I can tell you I haven't seen that kid concentrate that hard on anything! He loved it!

Last night the kids went with Aunt Stacy for a few hours so that Randy and I could attend an anniversary party for some friends of ours that have been married 10 years. Yes, 10 years.. where does the time go??!!
